Bishop Luscious W. Thompson, my father and Pastor Essie Lee Thompson incorporated New Hope Pentecostal Church in 1982. New Hope is the product of a dream that started in 1972. The couple wanted to build a church for the community to attend and find their path to salvation. Bishop Thompson has left the care of New Hope to his son, Pastor Kenyon W. Thompson. We are thankful for what they created, and we celebrate 42 years of New Hope today. Pastor Kenyon W. Thompson was Born in Jacksonville, Fl. As a child he relocated to the community of Orange Park, Fl. Where he grew up and developed into the man he is today. Pastor Thompson attended Orange Park High School. He would later join the Marine Corps, where he served our country faithfully for seven years. He was honorably discharged in 1994, after serving in Desert Storm. He would later meet and marry his wife of 25 years, First Lady Dawn Thompson. They have three children and presently reside in Fernandina Beach, Fl. Pastor Thompson answered the call to ministry and returned to the neighborhood where he grew up and loves very much.
